Billy Dodds says he was left “upset and disgusted” by what he called disrespectful post-match comments from Queen’s Park counterpart Owen Coyle last weekend.The Inverness Caley Thistle manager let rip yesterday in retaliation as he prepared for a Scottish Cup rematch with the Championship leaders after what proved a thrilling 0-0 draw in the league.
Dodds said he didn’t recognise Coyle’s description of the 90 minutes, with the Spiders’ manager giving his opinion that the hosts played on the counter-attack and approached the clash defensively.Queen’s return to Inverness seven days on with a place in the fourth round of the national competition at stake.
Dodds said: “It was a brilliant 0-0 (last weekend) and I really enjoyed the game. You never felt comfortable as there were chances at both ends.
Hopefully it will be a brilliant game and we can get through in the tie. That’s the main objective. After the game, I was really complimentary about Owen Coyle’s team, but when I listened to Owen’s comments, I thought he was really disrespectful.“He was so disrespectful to our team, saying we played on the counter-attack, we had men behind the ball all the time.
