Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Taylor Swift fans for “putting words into my mouth” after she seemingly shaded Swift for not being environmentally conscious. “Okay so it would be so awesome if people would stop putting words into my mouth and actually read what I said in that billboard article,” the 22-year-old singer wrote in an Instagram story. “I wasn’t singling anyone out, these are industry-wide systemic issues,” Eilish added, saying that she was also guilty of releasing multiple vinyl versions of her records in different packaging. “When it comes to variants, so many artists release them, including me, which I clearly state in the article,” she added. “The climate crisis is now and it’s about all of us being part of the problem and trying to do better sheesh.”In the Billboard article, the “What Was I Made For?” singer seemingly denounced artists who participated in the growing practice of releasing multiple “vinyl variants.”“We live in this day and age where, for some reason, it’s very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging,” she said. “[It] ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money and gets them more.”A vinyl variant is a different pressing of the same album with small changes, whether it’s color, additional tracks or even cover art.

The presence of these alterations also incentivizes die-hard fans to purchase all possible variants. “I can’t even express to you how wasteful it is,” the two-time Oscar winner stated.
