Billie Eilish has played snippets of two new songs in a recent interview, revealing that she has been “making music” again.During a conversation with CBS News, the pop star spoke to Anthony Mason about her enormous success and the doubts she has about her ability to create new material. The chat comes at the end of a year that saw Eilish release her third studio record, ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ – which has been nominated for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys 2025.She told Mason about experiencing writer’s block, a subject she has been open about previously. “It never is comfortable,” she explained. “You never get used to it.
It happens and you’re like, ‘What the hell?! I’m never gonna create again’.”But Eilish did reveal that she had been “making music” again with her brother and collaborator, Finneas.
At one point in the video interview, she took the camera into her backstage greenroom – where she had set up a makeshift recording studio.“This goes everywhere [with me], and the piano too,” she said, before playing brief snippets of two new tracks. “It’s just so much fun,” she told Mason. “And it’s just like not even serious.
We’ve just been making music, and also crocheting a lot.”One recording was just Eilish’s vocals accompanied by a piano line, while the second featured her signature breathy vocals over a steady drum beat.
