Bill Paxton‘s family has received a partial settlement with an anesthesiologist group in the wrongful death suit they filed after the actor’s death in 2017.
Court documents filed on Wednesday (February 23) with the Los Angeles Superior Court state that the attorneys for co-defendants General Anesthesia Specialists Partnership are looking to have a settlement of $1 million approved, per People. Click inside to read more… The company was involved with Bill‘s heart surgery, which occurred at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles less than two weeks before his death in 2017 at the age of 61.
The documents say that there was an intent to reach a settlement that would “reasonably compensate plaintiffs and avoid exposing defendant to an expensive and time consuming litigation,” though General Anesthesia denied any direct responsibility in the actor’s death.
The lawsuit was filed in 2018 by Bill‘s widow Louise Paxton and their children, James and Lydia Paxton.
