Bill Gates and Melinda Gates announced the end of their marriage after 27 years on Monday. And as the Microsoft founder, 65, and philanthropist, 56, embark on divorce proceedings it will not be the first time that the pair have negotiated arrangements as in 1997 Bill revealed that he and Melinda struck up a usual deal before they tied the knot on January 1, 1994 in Hawaii.
According to Time Magazine, the mega-rich businessman managed to get his bride to agree to a set-up that not many newlyweds would be keen to say yes to - which would allow him and his ex-partner, Ann Winblad, to take a holiday together once a year.
