He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Capitol last week by the president’s supporters.In a statement obtained by ESPN Monday night, Belichick declined to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump.
The legendary coach singled out “the tragic events of last week” for his decision, apparently referring to the acts of insurrection by Trump supporters.
Belichick won six Super Bowls with the Patriots after he took over as coach in 2000. He is the NFL’s winningest active head coach and third on the all-time list.Belichick publicly supported Trump when he ran for office.
