A former Big Brother star has revealed that she has swapped out her fame from the Channel 4 reality show to a job where she washes up dishes in the supermarket Morrisons.
Penny Ellis, who is a former schoolteacher, starred in the show’s second season back in 2001 where she revealed she found “unbelievable” fame after being caught naked in one of the scenes, which she insists was an accident.
22 years after her TV debut, 55 year old Penny revealed to The Sun that she struggled to return to her day job after being swept up in the celebrity world.
The former star who now lives in Hastings said she was “so famous” when she came out of the Big Brother house it was “unbelievable” but that she “didn’t really know what it meant”.The star was caught naked on camera after she dropped her bath towel in the female bedroom and it has had an impact on her career ever since.The broadcaster issued an apology for showing the scene and Penny denied to The Sun that the mishap was a way to get publicity and has in fact had a negative impact on her career as she “kept getting sacked”.
