Big Brother's Imogen Thomas 'heartbroken' over mum's tragic health diagnosis

Big Brother star Imogen Thomas has shared her heartbreak with fans online after her mum Janet was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

The 41 year old star, who shot to fame on the Channel 4 reality show, opened up about her devastating diagnosis after being moved by the latest episodes of Coronation Street which depict character Paul Foreman’s gruelling battle with the incurable and terminal disease.The Welsh beauty revealed that Paul’s MND storyline had really "struck a chord we never expected”, as it echoed her mother’s own experience of being diagnosed with the disease six months ago.

Sharing a video montage of her mum’s extensive treatment to try and slow the progression of the disease, Imogen wrote: "Six months ago- Our mum was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).

For those who are not aware of MND it’s an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves. "It causes weakness that gets worse over time.
