Britain’s Got Talent auditions came to an abrupt halt after a dancer suffered a nasty accident mid-performance, with judges Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli rushing to check on the performer.

Auditions for the 2024 series of BGT, which will air later this year, were being held at The Lowry Theatre in Salford, when chaos ensued as a member of a dance troupe suffered an injury on stage.

Simon, 64, reportedly hurried backstage to check on the performer, along with fellow judge Bruno, 68, after the safety curtain was lowered.

Meanwhile, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon remained on the judges' panel as they entertained the crowd. A source told The Sun: "It was a real shock when it happened as the lad, who was in his early twenties, was obviously in agony. "Unfortunately the rest of the troupe were so focused, and there were so many of them, that they had completed the routine before they quite realised how badly injured he was. "After the safety curtain came down Simon and fellow judge Bruno Tonioli went backstage to check on the lad.
