At the end of the original version of Energy, the pop superstar sang a series of “las” to the tune of the 2003 R&B hit. However, they no longer feature on the Spotify or YouTube versions of the track.

It has aired on NBC since it first launched in 1965.Currently, the show airs daily on NBC while past episodes are available to stream on Peacock.

Kelis claimed that she received no warning that her 2003 song would be interpolated into the new song, leaving her feeling "disrespected." She went on to add that, as she is not credited as a writer or producer on her own song, she stood to gain no financial benefit from the use of the track but that her Neptunes collaborators Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo would.

EXCLUSIVE: Three months into production on Season 1 of Beacon 23, Spectrum Originals and AMC Networks’ psychological thriller series starring Lena Headey and Stephan James, has been renewed for a second season. Work on the second season of the series, produced by Boat Rocker Studios and Spectrum Originals, will start shortly with Glen Mazzara and Joy Blake as new executive producers and co-showrunners. They will succeed at the helm Zak Penn. He created the series, based on the book by Hugh Howey, and serves as executive producer/showrunner on Season 1, which is filming in Toronto for three more months. The plan is for Beacon 23 to stay in continuous production on Season 2 after Season 1 wraps.
