Beyoncé has released an emotional statement in tribute to the American-Swiss singer following the news on Wednesday that she had passed away after a "long illness".

The 41-year-old former Destiny's Child singer, who has just embarked on her mammoth Renaissance world tour, joined other global stars in their tributes to Tina by dedicating the homepage of her website to the late Queen of Rock and Roll.

The Single Ladies artist changed the main image on the site to one of her and Tina during their iconic Proud Mary performance at the 50th annual Grammy Awards in 2008, when Beyoncé was just 26 years old.
