Beyoncé has picked up her first ever Academy Award nomination today, with “Be Alive” from King Richard up for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars.

She is nominated alongside songs by Billie Eilish (No Time To Die), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Encanto), Diane Warren (Four Good Days), and Van Morrison (Belfast).

The 2022 ceremony takes place on March 27 at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. “Be Alive” is Beyoncé’s contribution to the biopic of Serena and Venus Williams's father, Richard.

Will Smith is nominated for Best Actor for his role as Richard Williams. Eilish’s “No Time to Die” took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song earlier this year.
