Best cafe in Scotland announced as Ayrshire venue takes top title

An Ayrshire cafe has been crowned the best in Scotland.Puffers, in Irvine harbourside, received the top accolade at the Scottish Business Awards in Glasgow on Sunday night.The seaside eaterie beat off stiff competition from five other cafes on the night to land the prestigious honour for the first time.Thrilled owner Cathy Walker told Ayrshire Live: "It was absolute madness when our name was read out."The team have worked so hard for this and I'm absolutely delighted for them."It's been all hands on deck since I took over the business in November 2020 so to receive this recognition is just fantastic."The success comes on the back of Puffers being named best cafe at the Ayrshire Business Awards last November.That earned them a place at Sunday's glitzy national grand final.
