Bernardo Silva's bold claim that because Liverpool are champions a Reds start would win the PFA Player of the Year award has come back to bite him.
The Manchester City midfielder ranted back in April that his side were getting overlooked when it came to individual accolades.
He pointed out that Man City had been more successful than Liverpool in the Premier League back in 2019, and yet it was Mohamed Salah who won the coveted award.
He added that another Liverpool player would win it this year because the Reds won the title. "I'm not a big fan [of individual awards] because I think plenty of players deserve a lot more than what they get," Silva told Bleacher Report.
