Leo Barraclough International Features Editor French filmmaker Nicolas Philibert will be awarded the honorary Golden Alexander for his contribution to cinema at the 27th Thessaloniki Intl.
Documentary Festival, which runs March 6-16. The festival will also host a tribute to the work of the American filmmaker Lauren Greenfield.
Philibert, who “dares to permeate the innermost depths of the human psyche,” will deliver a masterclass, moderated by documentarist, producer and screenwriter Marco Gastine.
Philibert won Berlin’s Golden Bear for best film in 2023 for “On the Adamant” and “Être et Avoir” won the European Film Award for European documentary in 2002.
