Hamas also escalated on Monday, pledging to kill captured Israelis if attacks targeted civilians without warning. Bernard Cowan, 57, who grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, reportedly died on Saturday. His heartbroken brother Colin shared the news on Facebook, stating that "we are all devastated".
