Bella Hadid has detailed the “excruciating” depressive episodes she endures, while defending her decision to share a snap of her crying on social media.
The American model opened up about her mental illness to her 48.5 million Instagram followers last year where she shared a series of selfies of her crying.
Bella said over the past three years, she's sometimes gone through “excruciating and debilitating mental and physical pain”, and was often unsure why.
When trying to explain how she was feeling to her mum, former model and Real Housewives of Beverley Hills star Yolanda Hadid, and her doctor, the 25 year old said she’d use photographs to demonstrate her feelings when she couldn’t quite put it into words. “I would have really depressive episodes and my mom or my doctor would ask how I was and instead of [...] respond in text, I would just send them a photo,” Bella explained to The Wall Street Journal.
