With Emmy nomination voting beginning today, the Television Critics Association revealed the nominees for the 2022 TCA Awards. In something of a surprise, Quinta Brunson’s “Abbott Elementary” leads all programs with five nominations.

In this episode of The Discourse Podcast, we talk to screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Known for being the writers behind the “Zombieland” and “Deadpool” franchises, Reese and Wernick’s latest movie is “Spiderhead,” an adaptation of a George Saunders dystopian sci-fi short story directed by Joseph Kosinski for Netflix.

In 2021 and 2020, drama series had 133 and 197 submissions during those periods.

The trailer dropped Thursday and features de Armas as Marilyn Monroe.The trailer shows the actress in various scenes.  "Blonde" was written and directed by Andrew Dominik.The film is based on the book written by Joyce Carol Oates in 2000. Other cast members include Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel and Evan Williams. The movie has received a NC-17 rating, meaning nobody under 17 will be permitted to watch the film.This is the first Netflix film to receive the rating.
