Bear Grylls has revisited the devastating death of Spencer Matthews’ brother, Mike, who tragically lost his life on a summit to Mount Everest.
Spencer’s family received the devastating news that Mike had died while scaling Everest in 1999. The 22-year-old ran out of oxygen on the mountain in 'horrendous' conditions after trekking too far up.
Speaking on BBC Sounds' 6 Degrees of Jamie and Spencer , avid adventurer Bear gushed about the amazing man that Mike was before he paid the 'ultimate price’ on his Everest journey. “He was on the mountain a year after I was there and I always feel it's his record,” he explained. “I was the youngest Brit at the time and then I remember Mike going.
