Summer is upon us, and Glasgow residents won't even have to hop on a plane to experience those holiday vibes; this year, the beach is coming to them - and just in time for the school summer holidays.

For children, there's the Apple Coaster, Chair-O-Plane and more. The event organisers are the same team who brought the hugely popular Spootacular and Galatic Festival that went down at storm at Silverburn shopping centre, and hope that their summer offering will be bigger than ever. With tickets starting from as little as £2, and rides operating on a token system, Clyde Island has tried to make the event as "purse-friendly" as possible, with discounts and offers available while it is open.Callum Broome, creative director of Clyde Island, said; “We have seen costs spiral across the country so we wanted to bring a little happiness with a Summer Beach Festival for those staycationing this year in Glasgow, with a fantastic food, drink and ride selection”.Clyde Island presents Summer Beach Festival is taking place between July 15 to August 7 at NCP King Street Car
