Survivor will be returning to the UK, the BBC announced at the start of this week. According to Deadline, the network is planning a 16-part series which will kick off next year.
The UK version of Survivor is expected to take 20 people to compete in physical and psychological challenges on an island in a bid to be crowned the ultimate survivor.
The BBC added in their announcement that a premiere date, host, and cast details would be announced soon. While the show has been a huge hit in the U.S., international versions haven’t faired that well.
One format in Sweden lasted only two seasons in 1997. Previously, a UK version of the reality survivalist show aired on ITV around 2002.
