BBC viewers tuned into Prince William 's environmental awards ceremony The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet on Sunday evening - and they all had the same complaint.

The awards saw five environmental solutions given £1 million each to further their sustainability work, and Clara Amfo and Daniel Day Kim opened the show, writes The Mirror.Many celebs attended the event at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston including David Beckham and Rami Malek while Ellie Goulding performed.

However, viewers who were watching at home weren't very impressed after presenters and attendees flew to the East coast city to attend the ceremony, particularly given its sustainability message, while recipients stayed at home to receive their awards virtually.Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Why did you fly celebrities from around the world to attend & leave the most important people at home because of the carbon footprint…”Another added: “Let's save our planet by having a TV show, concert, black tie dinner event where singers, millionaires, fly in, have slap up meal, drinks, that's been imported from around the world.”Whilst one penned: “Are all these celebrities going to jump back on gas guzzling planes, and fly halfway across the world, now they've finished lecturing us all?”One wrote: “No need to fly people across the world to Boston."
