Fans of The Split were delighted on Monday night as the series finally returned to TV screens. But it does come with a tinge of sadness for those who have followed the Defoe family as the third run of the legal drama will be the last.

The series, starring Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan follows the lives of the three Defoe sisters, Hannah "Walker), Nina (Annabel Scholey) and Rose (Fiona Button) as well as their mother Ruth (Deborah Findlay).

And the first of the six episodes in the final season has already got fans talking. But here's your SPOILER ALERT warning if you're yet to see it. It came after Rose and James got into a fight about Rose's reluctance to explore the adoption route as they were about to head to an adoption centre.
