Martin Freeman is much-loved as the star of BBC TV series The Responder, where he plays Chris Carson, an urgent response officer on the beat in Liverpool.
His co-stars in the gritty drama include Adelayo Adedayo as Rachel and MyAnna Buring as Chris' wife Kate Carson – plus viewers will recognise Josh Finan as Marco from his role in Netflix's smash hit Baby Reindeer.
But Martin reportedly hasn't always got along with all his co-stars. Martin and Benedict Cumberbatch were well-known for their on-screen camaraderie as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John Watson in the hit series Sherlock – but are understood to have had a less than friendly relationship off-camera.
Sources claim the actors kept things strictly professional, with little personal warmth shared during their six years of working together. "Benedict and Martin aren't mates and they don't spend time together away from the show," an insider revealed to The Sun back in January 2017. "They're professional and very polite to each other but there's not the warmth you'd expect after filming together for six years." The apparent tension between them came to light following a comment made by one actor about the other, which was deemed "pathetic".This rare glimpse into their relationship intrigued fans, who had little inkling of the discord behind the scenes.
