Sicily-born Giovanni lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy with EastEnders actress Rose from Manchester after they formed a strong friendship.
They moved viewers and the judges to tears with a dance featuring 10 seconds of silence in honour of Rose being the BBC dance show 's first deaf contestant in its 17 year history.
His tour, which recently came to Manchester's Bridgewater Hall includes a sign language interpreter in tribute to Giovanni's dance partner.
