Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans was left devastated following backlash from a failed attempt at humour on the show last Saturday.
Audience members were shocked as they observed the Welsh opera singer seemingly trying to place his hand on dancer Katya Jones' waist, leading to visible discomfort from Katya, who brushed it off and appeared uneasy when he tried again.The 35-year-old Russian professional dancer downplayed the situation later, referring to it as an "inside joke" with Wynne, reports the Mirror.During his BBC Radio Wales programme, where Evans is a presenter, the 52-year-old addressed the issue on Monday.
He earnestly apologised for any upset caused by the incident but clarified: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day."He went on to explain: "It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.
It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It was been totally misinterpreted." The performer, known for his role in the Go Compare adverts, reassured everyone: "Everything's on Katya's socials.
