Strictly’s Vito Coppola has opened up on the shock incident which led to him being injured by partner Ellie Leach at the weekend. The pair were dancing the Paso Doble on Saturday night, to Insomnia by Faithless, in a performance which went down well with the judges.

But it was bittersweet as Vito was then seen holding his tooth after being accidentally hit in the face by former Corrie star Ellie.Vito appeared on Wednesday night’s It Takes Two with Ellie where he gave an insight into what had really happened. And he also revealed it’s not the first time he’s been left sore during his time with Ellie, as he’s had a few injuries at the hand of the accident-prone actress, as reports Yorkshire Live.

Host Janette Manrara asked Vito: "First of all, how's your tooth?" He then replied: "My tooth! Last week I almost lost my toe, my big toe, she squeezed so hard it became the double of the size."The last small finger of the foot became the same size of the toe."Yesterday I almost lost my ear because I fell."Janette said: "We know you guys are quite physical it sounds like in rehearsals.

So just put these on."In a comical moment, Janette then gave Vito a gumshield covered in glitter to help protect him from Ellie. The pair were riding high on their success from the weekend when they got the highest score of the series so far and was the joint highest paso doble in week five in Strictly history.Janette then made them even happier when she revealed the last couple to score 37 on a week five paso won the series in 2010.Vito said: "This is a lot of pressure but maybe we take this as a sign of good luck.
