Pete Wicks had just a one-word response to dance partner Jowita Przystal as she praised his efforts in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom.

The pair were seen performing together for the first time as the BBC One dance contest got underway. Following the pre-recorded launch earlier this month, the first live show of the Strictly 2024 run took place on Saturday night (September 21) and saw the 15 new couples perform their first routines of the series.

Pete and Jowita danced the paso doble to Breathe by electronic dance music band The Prodigy. Pete, who appeared in an all-black leather outfit, and Jowita were given 17 points from the judges - which Strictly fans branded 'harsh'. But Jowita appeared impressed with her partner's efforts as she took to Instagram on Sunday (September 22) to share her thoughts.

Sharing a string of snaps of the pair, in which they could be seen in their outfits from the show while looking at one another adoringly and with smiles on their faces, the pro dancer said: "I am beyond proud of you @p_wicks01! "I don’t need to say much cause I’ve already told you but what’s important I hope you know that you are a true fighter.
