Angela Scanlon was left in tears as she opened up about her Strictly Come Dancing exit for the first time. The Irish TV presenter was the ninth celebrity to exit the BBC One dance contest alongside her professional dance partner Carlos Gu on Sunday night (November 26).
The pair faced the dreaded dance-off against Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin after both couples found themselves with the lowest number of votes ahead of the quarter-finals.
Both couples reprised their routines from Saturday night's live show, with Layton and his dance partner Nikita performing their American Smooth to ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’ by Björk, while Angela and her Carlos Gu performed their Cha Cha to ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition. Only head judge Shirley Ballas would have opted to save the departing couple. In her first TV interview since being eliminated, Angela fought back tears.
