BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden says 'life's cruel' as she's 'knocked' by loss

Amy Dowden has told fans that 'life is cruel' as she encouraged them to show support to the family of a friend she made while undergoing cancer treatment as she was 'knocked' by her death.

As fans of the Strictly Come Dancing star know, she bravely underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2023. She then triumphantly returned to the programme back in September after missing the previous series due to having her treatment.

However, the dancer's return to the dancefloor during Strictly 2024 was cut short when she suffered an injury at the end of October.

The injury to her foot, which wasn't related to any other health concerns experienced previously, meant she couldn't continue in the 2024 run of the competition and was replaced by fellow pro Lauren Oakley.
