Amy Dowden has been flooded with support from her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars and fans as she noted the difference 12 months can make and celebrated how far she has come since undergoing cancer treatment.
The dancer was back in the ballroom over the weekend as the BBC One dance contest's epic Movie Week took place. The live show saw the remaining couples, which had dropped from 14 to 13 following Nick Knowles' withdrawal due to injury, channel their inner film stars as they performed routines with songs from the likes of George of the Jungle, Harry Potter, Dreamgirls and Rocketman.
During the show, Strictly fans saw JLS star JB Gill and Welsh dancer Amy perform the American Smooth to the song Pure Imagination from last year's Wonka movie, scoring 32 out of a possible 40 points. She had been on her honeymoon with her husband Ben Jones when she discovered a lump in her breast and following her diagnosis, she was unable to compete in the dance show.
