Strictly Come Dancing has seen a dip in viewership, with fewer tuning in to watch the first live show with a public vote compared to last year.
On Saturday, 28 September, 7.1 million people watched the show live, compared to the 7.8 million viewers from the previous year. The decline follows a dip in viewership for the 2024 launch show.
A source claimed to The Sun: "Strictly is still the most watched programme on a Saturday night - getting double the viewers of its nearest ratings rival.
And, although the number watching on catch-up is increasing, the BBC always prided itself on the fact that the dance show offered a shared experience." Moreover, they remarked, "But it seems fewer and fewer people are now choosing to share it on a Saturday night," reports the Mirror.
