BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2024 celebrity line-up as it's announced with major first
manchestereveningnews.co.ukThe line-up of celebrities heading for the ballroom in Strictly Come Daning is being revealed with the first confirmed to be putting on their dancing shoes this year is comedian Chris McCausland, the show's first blind contestant.
The 47-year-old lost his sight due to retinitis pigmentosa, a hereditary eye disease, which causes gradual degeneration of the retina.
He has hosted his own self-titled show on ITV1 on Saturday mornings, and has also featured on panel shows such as Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and QI.
The BBC One dance contest is set to return to our screens in a matter of weeks for its 20th year with the launch show being filmed during the first week of September and from then on the Strictly journey - and the road to Christmas - will have officially begun.
