After more than seven decades of recognising sporting talent across Britain, the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year will be returning to our screens for the 2024 awards.
As some of Britain's biggest sporting stars race to be crowned, England footballer Mary Earps took the prize last year, while teammate Beth Mead won in 2022.
After the former collected her award, the Lioness said: "I'm very honoured and humbled", before adding that this is "the ultimate all round sporting accolade." Despite having their fingers crossed for the sports personality of the year award, these athletes have plenty of other categories to win from.
This includes world sport star, young sports personality, unsung hero, coach of the year, team of the year, and the coveted lifetime achievement award.
