BBC's The Repair Shop gets spin-off - but host Jay Blades will be given less air time after love split

BBC have reportedly granted a green light for a spin off of The Repair Shop, The Repair Shop On The Road, following Jay Blades' marriage split, The Sun reports.

The show will go across the country, and will see the team repair peoples treasures. Despite the good news for Jay amid his marriage breakup, the host will be given a smaller role as the new spin-off is reportedly set to focus less on Jay, and more on the supporting team of restorers from in the barn. “This is a great vote of confidence in The Repair Shop’s presenter, even if it does see the limelight shift from him somewhat in this spin-off,” an insider told the publication. “It’s also another sign of just how successful the show has become in the seven years it’s been on our screens.” The show is reported to begin filming later this year.

Fitness star Lisa Marie Zbozen announced her split from The Repair Shop presenter at the beginning of May in an emotional post.

In a statement posted online, at the time, Lisa said: "I don't know how to say this because it's still really raw," as reported by The Sun. "I probably should be really angry but I'm just incredibly sad about the whole thing right now.
