BBC presenter Clive Myrie has revealed a startling family revelation that surfaced when he visited Jamaica with his wife. The secret came to light during an unearthed discussion on the Desperately Seeking Wisdom podcast, where Myrie recounted to Craig Oliver how the events unfolded while he was in the Caribbean with his wife, Catherine Myrie.
Clive was at his aunt and grandmother's place when his gran, who was facing the "advanced stages of dementia" and had never met Catherine before, reacted with shock at seeing a white person in her house.
Myrie narrated that due to the dementia and the fact they likely didn't have "any other white people" over, his grandmother was quite confused.
But then something even more unexpected occurred. He recited: "And she was taken back because of the dementia to her childhood when she was seven or eight and she was growing up in the Panama Canal Zone, where her father, my great-grandfather, was working, building the Panama Canal," reports the Express.
