Carol Kirkwood was taken to hospital after being knocked off her bike in a car accident. The BBC weather presenter, who has been absent from the programme, told her online followers that she was injured in a road collision with a car while cycling.
She revealed all in a tweet, Carol, 57, explaining that this was the reason she had not been at work, and thanked emergency service staff who attended the scene, as well as hospital staff.
Carol, 57, tweeted: "Been off following an accident. "Got knocked off my bike by a car and got injured.
