Martine Croxall, who comes from Stoke Golding near Hinckley, triumphed in last night’s edition of Celebrity Mastermind, facing off against the likes of a RuPaul’s Drag Star to take the coveted title.

The episode also saw Martine reveal what it was like to break one of the biggest news stories of the past 12 months. READ MORE: For the latest celebrity and TV news click here Martine, who is regularly seen anchoring BBC News bulletins, had pioneering journalist and explorer Nellie Bly as her specialist subject, scoring 10 points from her 90 seconds of questioning on the subject.

At the end of the first round that score saw her in the lead, just one point ahead of BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Ace whose specialist subject was The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, while broadcaster Maria McErlane’s specialist subject - the history of bicycles - saw her score 6 points.
