BBC viewers were quick to praise Lennie James' compelling new drama series Mr Loverman n Monday night.The much-anticipated adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo's novel "Mr Loverman" graced television screens on Monday evening, presenting a back-to-back serving of its initial two episodes on BBC One.
Central to "Mr. Loverman" is the story of Barrington Jedidiah Walker (played by Lennie James), a 74-year-old Antiguan-born dynamo and Hackney dweller, along with Carmel Walker (portrayed by Sharon D Clarke), his loyal spouse of half a century, who suspects her husband of infidelity.
Unbeknownst to her, Barry is romantically entwined in a covert liaison with his dearest friend and soulmate, Morris (played by Ariyon Bakare).
As Barry approaches life's twilight, he faces daunting decisions that promise to shake up not just his world but that of his family as well.
