BBC EastEnders' original Janine Butcher now after ditching fame for very different job

In fact over the years the character, known for her transformation from sweet girl to husband killer, has been portrayed by three actors.Taking on the role in 1999, Charlie is today considered the definitive Janine.
However, two other actors helped shape this popular role. Rebecca Michael was the first to play Janine from 1989 to 1993 as a child actor, but she decided to leave the limelight to focus on her education.
Rebecca has since built a successful career in marketing, management, and business. Her studies have led to an even more glamorous life with roles around the world, including Tokyo, Singapore, and California.
