Tensions rose in the BBC Breakfast studio this week when Naga Munchetty seemed to snap at her co-presenter Charlie Stayt, asking: "Has that bothered you?" during a segment discussing a story about fly infestations in Wales.
The discourse began with the pair conversing about the unwelcome swarms that had residents and viewers alike squirming. The coverage was complemented by Wales correspondent Hywel Griffith, who provided a detailed account via a recorded package.
Setting the scene, Naga said: "Residents of a village in South Wales say they've been inundated by a mysterious swarm of flies." Charlie chimed in with additional context, mentioning: "People living in Bettws near Bridgend say they can't open their windows or eat lunch in peace because of the insects." However, the situation soon took an unsettling turn as he turned to Hywel's segment for further insights, reports the Express.
Hywel divulged the grim reality locals were facing – children resorted to eating under mosquito nets and one household trapped 205 flies within just 45 minutes.
