The BBC has heeded a public backlash and reinstated Autumnwatch, which faced the axe last year. Avid watchers shall be treated to three special instalments of the much-loved nature series, with veteran presenter Chris Packham at the helm.Nature enthusiasts can look forward to Autumnwatch splashing across their screens on The One Show, poised for appearance on 29th and 30th of October, and embracing a spookier vibe with a Halloween special set for 31st October 2024, direct from Oxford's enchanting Wytham Woods.Commenting on the highly anticipated renewal of Autumnwatch, Chris expressed: "Autumn is one of the most magical phases in our seasonal calendar.

It may feel like things are shutting down but far from it. It's a time for nature to recycle and prepare."Chris enthused further: "Those rich autumn colours are a sign of nature at its very best and I'm excited to be telling the stories of the season in one of my favourite woodlands in the UK." This revival will shine a spotlight on badger families within Wytham Woods, as Chris utilises cutting-edge technologies like thermal imaging cameras to document their movements and adaptational feeding patterns associated with the season, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In addition to observing wildlife, Chris intends to explore the mental health advantages of forested areas during the fall and will be joined by lepidopterist Liam Crowley to breakdown the evolutionary artistry of moth concealment. The final episode, set to air on Halloween, will have Chris spotlighting creatures often associated with the season and steeped in folklore, such as bats, owls, corvids, and toads.
