‘Barbie’ Takes Half Of Golden Globes’ Original Song Nominations For 2024
deadline.comBarbie‘s huge impact this awards season continued to be felt on Monday, as the film claimed a leading nine nominations at the Golden Globes, including three of six slots in the category of Best Original Song – Motion Picture.
Likely to land at least a pair of Song noms at the Oscars, the film’s recognition today on the music front came for the tunes “Dance the Night” by Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, Dua Lipa and Caroline Ailin, “I’m Just Ken” by Ronson and Wyatt, and “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish O’Connell and Finneas O’Connell.
Other Song contenders at this year’s Golden Globes will include Bruce Springteen’s “Addicted to Romance,” penned for the Vertical romance She Came to Me from Rebecca Miller; The Super Mario Bros.
Movie‘s “Peaches” by Jack Black, Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic, Eric Osmond and John Spiker; and Lenny Kravitz’s Rustin number “Road to Freedom.” Barbie‘s other nominations today were in the categories of Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Male Actor in a Supporting Role, Director – Motion Picture, Screenplay – Motion Picture, and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
