The Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo comedy wasn’t able to submit for Golden Globes and SAG Awards nominations this year, and under current rules, won’t be able to for 2022 either, Variety reported Tuesday (February 16).
The film was released on PVOD on February 12, which means it’s caught in a “COVID-awards loophole” under the current rules and guidelines for the awards shows, according to the outlet. “The Lionsgate comedy was originally scheduled to be released theatrically on July 31, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to July 16, 2021.
