There’s been a buzz about Balloch with a teenager embarking on a honey-making adventure as part of the UK’s first-ever beekeeping challenge.Harry Hose appears on new CBBC series Show Me The Honey!

which features five wanna-bee keepers and their families as they learn everything there is to know about caring for a hive.The 14-year-old took part in a series of weekly challenges to create the best hive and tastiest honey – with the ups and downs, from receiving his hive, bees and suit to the tribulations of maintaining the hive up to its climactic final harvest, captured on the show.With the appetite for apiaries on the rise as people try to tackle the climate crisis by reversing the decline in bees, Show Me the Honey!

taps into the buzz around beekeeping and gives viewers tips on how to help all pollinating insects.Harry has been keeping bees in his garden as part of the show and has reaped the rewards, making 44 jars of delicious honey.Speaking to the Lennox Herald, he told how being on the programme has been an incredible experience, which has taught him how important it is to protect bees.He said: “It was really exciting and I learned so much.“We took part in seven challenges over seven episodes and the winner of each one would get a golden bee.“There were loads of different ones.

We had to create a garden for our bees and make desserts made with honey.“I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know anyone else on the show before but when I finally got to meet everyone, they were so nice and kind.
