Balfron tip open for appointments only "over the coming months"

Rural residents are being told that Balfron’s tip will be appointment only for months to come - and possibly even for good.Locals who contacted the Observer said they had heard the village recycling centre would be run on an appointment-only system on a permanent basis from now on and there would be no return to drop-ins.The site opening hours are currently Monday to Friday, 5-7.30pm (last entry).

and Saturday from 10am to 1.30pm (last entry). Anyone arriving without a booking is not able to access the site.One resident said: “Some disruption was obviously to be expected while there were wider restrictions, but the other recycling centres at Callander and Polmaise are now open for drop-ins.“A lot of people are more than happy to recycle but
