Mary Berry is to be made a Dame in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list this week. It is reported the former Great British Bake Off judge, 85, is said to be rewarded for her six decades of writing cookery books and broadcasting cooking programmes.
The list had been compiled before the pandemic took hold but its publication delayed from June to allow medics, fundraisers, volunteers and scientists involved in the response to Covid-19 to be included.
Mary once said her greatest memory was dinner with the Queen and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace in 2017. She was also invited to the Palace in 2012 when she received a CBE for services to culinary arts.
