Recently, her title as a national British treasure was cemented when she was named as a Dame in the Queen’s Birthday Honours last October alongside fellow legends Sir David Attenborough and Poirot star David Suchet.
The Bake Off icon has now been named a Dame Commander by Prince Charles at an investiture ceremony held in Windsor Castle. The honour recognised her contribution to the culinary arts, broadcasting and her writing over the course of her five-decade career.
Mary, whose son William tragically passed away in a car crash at the age of 19, is a patron of Child Bereavement UK and she was also recognised for her charity
