BAFTA viewers 'disgusted' as award show leaves out late Lord of the Rings actor from in memoriam

Viewers of this year's star-studded BAFTA film award ceremony on BBC One were left incensed on Sunday evening when the annual In Memoriam tribute overlooked a much-loved actor.

The touching segment, led by Jurassic Park actor Jeff Goldblum, paid homage to the film industry figures we've lost in the past 12 months.

As Goldblum performed a rendition of 'As Time Goes By' on the piano, a tribute video played featuring stars such as Dame Maggie Smith, David Lynch and Kris Kristofferson.

However, Manchester-born actor Bernard Hill, best known for his role as King Théoden in Lord of the Rings, was noticeably absent from the tribute.
