A bamboozled English woman has described how she has quit her job after waking up one morning with a Welsh accent despite never visiting the country.

Puzzled Zoe Coles developed the new accent six weeks ago - assuming it would wear off. The 36-year-old is often asked if she's from Cardiff - when she actually lives in Lincolnshire.

The mum-of-two said she now feels anxious when leaving the house as she feels like she "doesn't fit in anymore" because of her strange change in accent, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

Zoe said: "I'll be about to go into the shops and I get anxious because I don't fit in around here anymore - we're not in Wales."I got stopped in Tesco a couple of weeks ago and a man told me he could fall asleep listening to my accent.
